Meet Thushiyanthini Ravi, Grace Girls Home

Age: 6 (born July 7, 2001)
Date of Admission: May 22, 2006
Birth Place: Trincomalee, Sri Lanka
Height: 44” (she was 42” at time of admission)
Weight: 40 lbs. (she was 37 lbs. at time of admission)

History: At just six years old, Thushiyanthini is the youngest child at the Grace Girls Home. Prior to her admission, she lived with a grandmother in Trincomalee. Unfortunately, Thushiyanthini’s mother committed suicide in 2003. Her father is mentally ill and was unable to care for her. Thushiyanthini attends Grace Daycare and is making wonderful progress and has lots of new friends. She is a very sweet and friendly child and has really been taken in by her sisters at the Grace Girls Home. One of her favorite activities is dancing…and she’s pretty good at it too!

Here is what Thushiyanthini had to say when she was asked to tell us something about herself:

“Since I came to Grace Home I am very happy. I like the other sisters living with me here at Grace Home. They are very friendly with me. The teachers are taking good care of me and the others my friends are Darshika, Sivaranjini & Dachayni.”

“I like to study hard and would like to become a doctor to help the sick people suffering from various diseases.”

“My favorite hobbies are signing songs, dancing and drawing.”

“I like school. My favorite color is yellow. My favorite food is string hoppers and chicken. My favorite pet is a pussycat. I like to play hide-and-seek.”

And finally, with a big smile she said, “I like to eat sweets and make new friends.”
