Mr. Sellam is a widower who was welcomed into the Mercy Home family in November of 2007. He must use a wheel chair to move about, but is very sharp and likes to study religion, particularly Hinduism. In his words: "My parents died when I was 8. My wife died many years ago. I had 2 boys; they were shot by the Sri Lankan Army in 1984 in Uppuveli (Trincomalee).

I cannot take care of myself anymore. Luckily God had a place for me here."
